On Thursday, June 4th, Lambda Independent Democrats of Brooklyn held their second endorsement meeting, attended by many current candidates for local office. Each candidate was given time to speak and to answer questions from the L.I.D. membership before the vote was held.
Endorsements included: John Liu for Comptroller, JoAnne Simon for City Council District 33, Tish James for City Council District 35, Bob Zuckerman for City Council District 39, Lew Fidler for City Council District 46 and Rachel Adams & Reginald Boddie for Civil Court.
In the race for Comptroller, John Liu and David Yassky tied at LID's last endorsement meeting. Liu won the runoff vote on Thursday.
L.I.D. declined to make endorsements in City Council District 38.
Endorsements already given in May include Bill Thompson for Mayor, Bill De Blasio for Public Advocate, Charles Hynes for District Attorney, Marty Markowitz for Borough President, and Diana Reyna for City Council District 34.
